BNP Paribas Securities Services and BNP Paribas Investment Partners came to studio401 and asked us to design their stand graphics for the recent NAPF Annual Conference and Exhibition 2014. Pat Cash was a special guest on the stand and delegates were able to stop on the stand and play a built-in interactive tennis game with the man himself! The three day show proved to be a huge success attracting some of the most important pension decision makers in the country.
This year we decided to use origami as the theme for our 2013 Christmas card. The cards were sent out with Pantone coloured origami paper together with instruction sheets for making 4 Christmas themed objects. The card design was a play on the instruction sheets, encouraging the recipient to read the Christmas message from step 1 to step 4. The origami theme conveyed the idea of turning a blank canvas into something simple but beautiful. The cards were printed white ink on Colorplan fuschia stock. The kraft capacity envelopes were individually rubber stamped with the project strapline ‘bringing great ideas to life’. Roll on next Christmas!
Frog Capital, one of Europe’s most individual and forward thinking investors, approached Studio401 after a receiving a recommendation from one of our clients. They required a speedy turnaround from concept to delivery on two annual reports. Working closely with the team at Frog, we gave special consideration to the tactile nature of this project. The cover is printed digitally in white ink with a spot varnish directly onto 270gsm Colorplan Ebony. The opening leaf is printed on a transparent Cromatico 110gsm. The text pages are printed on 160gsm Mohawk Premium and the sections are divided by a mixture of 140gsm Sirio Lime and 135gsm Colorplan Ebony. Frog were delighted with the results. ‘Touch’ is especially important in print and our emotional response to a tactile printed product can help to sell, strengthen brands and communicate effectively.
In November 2012 our print partner Pureprint started beta testing the HP Indigo 10000 digital press and have placed an order for a second one which is due for delivery in August 2013. This new technology has enabled Studio401 to offer B2 large format, striking print quality and the ability to run personalisation across multiple versions at virtually no extra cost. Contact us to find out more about the benefits of large format digital printing.
Studio401’s long-term print partner Pureprint has announced its agreement to be one of the two British companies to beta test the new HP Indigo 10000 digital press, driving the development of this highly productive, versatile press and spearheading the introduction of new applications, not previously addressed by digital printing.
The launch of the new B2-format HP Indigo Digital Press is significant as it takes digital print deeper into the production mainstream. The 10000 press will be able to offer our clients cost-effective print solutions on shorter print runs for projects such as folders, packaging applications, brochures and posters. The press also offers the same personalising capabilities as the current smaller format Indigo 7500, with the benefit of the B2 sheet sizes. With the reduction of environmental impacts over the traditional litho printing processes, Studio401 are very excited about this new press and the benefits that we can offer to our clients. The press is due to be fully operational to our clients in early 2013.
Studio401 were asked to design the launch issue of ‘spotlight’ a magazine for BNP Paribas Securities Services that focuses on culture and engagement in the work environment. The turnaround time on this project was tight to say the least. BNP Paribas were delighted with the results and so were we. We look forward to working with BNP Paribas on the next issue.
Stock Market Challenge is an initiative bought to schools across Scotland to give students a taste of what it would be like to work as a trader on the financial markets. Students can buy and sell shares and currency just like professional traders do. BNP Paribas Securities Services and Skills Development Scotland needed an identity for Stock Market Challenge and also a booklet that could be given out at the schools to introduce the concept of the game. The logo is based on the shield of a traditional school badge and the blue line conveys an upward plot of a stocks and shares graph. The booklet was delivered to schools across Scotland and was a huge success.
